This interactive map was created to assist those interested in exploring local Wisconsin history. The map icons pinpoint the location of local historical societies that have an active web site and artifacts to view. All are Affiliates of the Wisconsin Historical Society. Selecting an icon will provide a link to the local society’s web site for further information.

indicates that the society posts regular hours of operation, although these hours may be limited, such as a Sunday afternoon in the summer.

indicates those societies which have no regular hours but do open for special events.

Many societies provide information signs or brochures at historic buildings they maintain in the community, often located within a local park or point of interest. These can be visited any time. Check their website for details.
